Bobbie Tostenson has seen the tenant next door move out and strangers moving around a rental house next door.
Bobbie said, “Besides mice and bugs if one of these people gets in there and sets the place on fire there goes my house next door.”
The doors on the vacant house are posted danger by the city of Omaha. But several windows have been left open to air out the place after the previous tenant left. The landlord tells Six On Your Side he’s doing his best to keep the place secure.
However over the weekend he confronted possible thieves trying to take a set of speakers. The previous tenant left furniture and belongings behind.
Across the alley from the house is a licensed day care with six kids under five years old. The daycare provider is concerned about rats and spiders because old clothes and trash is piled outside the vacant house just across the alley.
Bobbie said Tuesday morning that the landlord came to the home
Monday night and cleaned up both front and back yards.
