Jackie Kuta and several neighbors have backyard pools none of them want. Jackie said, “That’s not a pond it’s their grass.”
About a half dozen homeowners in Pilgrims Landing south of Bellevue has continuous drainage problems.
Henry Schuttler lives at the bottom of the hill in a home less than 10 years old. Henry said, “Every time we get an inch or more of rain we have a whole backyard full of water. It takes two or three days to dry out.”
The developer told Six On Your Side all engineering specifications were followed but individual builders could have changed the course of drainage.
The neighborhood is outside Bellevue city limits so public works can’t help.
An engineer for the Sanitary Improvement District investigated the drainage problem. He said the S-I-D is not responsible for the flooded backyards.
Jackie Kuta is frustrated. “I probably made 50 phone calls and it all brings right back to nobody can do anything.”
The neighbors are hoping to find another civil engineer who can provide answers to the soggy situation in their backyards.
