Serious injury accident in Plattsmouth. The driver of a motorcycle was airlifted from the scene.
Cass County Sheriff’s Department deputies, Plattsmouth Rescue volunteers, Plattsmouth Fire volunteers, Plattsmouth Police officers, and LifeNet medical helicopter responded to a two-vehicle accident in the middle of the intersection of Highway 66 and Highway 75.
A 2005 Dodge Ram truck driven by Jeremy R. Needham, age 21, Plattsmouth, collided with a 2005 Harley Davidson registered and operated by a 46 -year-old male from Avoca, says Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann.
Rescue workers arriving on the scene immediately requested LifeNet. The male driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center Hospital in serious condition, said the report. (The name of the injured man had not been officially released at print time today.) Needham and a passenger were not injured.
The intersection of Highway 66 and Highway 75 was closed for about two hours, while deputies conducted the accident investigation.
