Sharpen up your sweet tooth. There's a new destination in town selling high-end chocolate and Italian Ice Cream.
It's the Omaha Chocolate Company at 169th and Center.
Owner Dustin Culton describes the gelato saying, "It's just got a lot of flavor. It's very intense compared to an American ice cream. And the big difference is when we make the product in the store, we don't pump any additional air into the product."
Culton says some of the names are tough to pronounce but "Cookies and Cream" is one of the best-sellers.
Amy Boyles stopped in for truffles but decided to taste the gelato and told us, "That's a really good flavor, really good flavor."
Culton said, "After you've had it in your mouth for a couple of seconds, it's like you get more of it. I don't know how to explain it better than that."
The store has been open for a month now.
The gelato starts at approximately $3 for a small. The chocolates are a little less than $1 apiece with a price break if you buy more.
