Police Need Help Identifying Clumsy Burglars

A cigarette sign hanging outside Tobacco Road Discounts reads "More to Explore."

Advice two burglars took literally Wednesday, March 26th.

Surveillance video captures the pair casing the place, then throwing a cinder block through the glass door. From there it's a scramble. One burglar slipped and fell right as he gets inside.

The crook then dashes behind the counter to fill his arms with cigarette cartons. As he comes back to the door, this uncoordinated burglar goes down again; falling not once, but twice.

When he finally gets back to his feet, he has to pick up the stolen cigarettes off the pavement before he dashes away.

This pair is not the only set of in-a-hurry burglars. Two guys hit the CVS on 48th and Dodge a few weeks earlier. Suspect one wears an orange button-up shirt. Surveillance video shows him placing nine bottles of vodka into a hand basket. Suspect number two is wearing a gray sweatshirt.

But instead of heading to the counter to pay these guys decide to bolt out the door.

In all, these two pairs of crooks took cigarettes and bottles of vodka. But the greater loss is the taken sense of security at these businesses.

If you have any information on these crimes or suspects, call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-7867.
