Burglar Gets Away With Only A Pocket Full Of Change

It's business as usual inside the Scooters Coffeehouse on 78th Street and Dodge Street.

As the coffee grinder hums, it's near impossible to tell a few days earlier this little store was broken into by a burglar.

"They had tried to pry open the registers, they did not successfully get the registers open. They got some of the change out of the registers," said Rachal Morten, Field Service Manager.

Eighteen dollars worth of change is all the crook made off with. But finding the coffeehouse burglar looks bleak with no camera footage, no finger prints and no witnesses.

There is really only one lead: a screw driver. Police believe the crook used the screw driver to break the drive through window, which is how he gained access inside the building. The black and yellow screw driver was left on the ground outside of the drive through window.

This scooters has gone through five different break-ins over the past few years. But this store doesn't feel those burglaries are anything to get steamed up over. In fact, they were serving customers an hour after the burglary occurred.
