A Rocky First Night in New Apartment

First time renter Nyahok Chut was really excited to be off on her own.

The 'now leasing' and 'welcome home' sign at Wentworth USA apartments seemed perfect to Chut. She moved in May 29th, but didn't stay the night.

"And the next day I came to change for work in the morning. And I came in I noticed my guitar was gone, a bag of clothes was gone. Just a lot of stuff, my belongings were gone. And I was like, I think I got robbed," said Chut.

She'd locked the door, so she knew who ever took her things must have had a key.

"I was just like really scared, I was like I can't even trust this place for a day," said Chut.

She said she immediately notified the apartment office, but said they didn't have any answers.

It wasn't until after she filed a police report her landlord called.

"We found your stuff, it was the maintenance dude. He was going to come and paint your border. He thought you had moved out, and just left all this stuff for takes," said Chut.

When she came home Tuesday, some of her things were returned, but not all of them. She is hoping they will be returned soon.
