Bellevue Bruins Picked to Win MCAC
Bellevue University has been picked as the favorite to win the 2012 MCAC women's volleyball championship according to the MCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released Monday (Aug. 20).

Bellevue University has been picked as the favorite to win the 2012 MCAC women's volleyball championship according to the MCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released Monday (Aug. 20).
The Bruins, who are ranked No. 19 in the NAIA Preseason Top 25, posted a 29-7 overall record in 2011, including a 10-1 league mark en route to capturing the MCAC Tournament Title. Bellevue advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in 2011 for the fifth consecutive season, falling in the opening round to MidAmerica Nazarene University.
College of the Ozarks, which posted a perfect 12-0 MCAC record last season to win the regular season crown, compiled a 29-8 overall record in 2011 to earn the No. 2 position in the 2012 preseason league rankings.
York College placed third in the conference coaches' poll. The Panthers recorded a 20-12 overall (8-3 MCAC) record a year ago.
Rounding out the preseason poll are College of Saint Mary (4), Oklahoma Wesleyan University (5), Central Baptist College (6), Haskell Indian Nations University (7), Waldorf College (8), Southwestern Christian University (9) and Central Christian College (10).
