Erstad's Contract Extended Through 2016
A year after his hiring, Nebraska baseball coach Darin Erstad has a new contract.

A year after his hiring, Nebraska baseball coach Darin Erstad has a new contract.

The four-year deal through 2016 pays him $163,200 annually. Based on his current salary, the contract calls for him to receive a bonus of $13,600 for winning a Big Ten title or earning an NCAA Tournament bid, $20,400 for achieving both, $27,200 for making the College World Series and $40,800 for winning a national championship.

The contract was signed June 3rd and released on Thursday.

The Huskers were 35-23 overall and finished fourth in the Big Ten in Erstad's first season.

Erstad, a two-time All-Star who earned about $50 million in 14 major-league seasons, had an initial salary of $160,000 at Nebraska. Former coach Mike Anderson was paid $330,000 in 2010, his last season.
