Eric Harbutz knocked a two-run homer for the Shockers and the Bluejays stranded eight runners in a 5-1 loss to Wichita State Saturday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.

Creighton finishes the regular season with a 22-28 overall record, 6-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Bluejays open tournament play Tuesday in Springfield, Missouri as the number eight seed against Indiana State at 12:30 p.m.

The Shockers got on the board in the second inning as Johnny Coy led off with a single and advanced to third on a hit-and-run by Casey Gillaspie. Mikel Mucha singled to drive in the run.

The Jays tied it up in the fifth inning, thanks to a lead off single by Jake Peter. Brennan Murphy bunted him over to second before Chance Ross and Brad McKewon both singled.

Wichita State put up single runs in both the sixth and eighth innings before Harbutz hit his second homer of the season in the top of the ninth.
