UNO defeated North Dakota 4-2 in an elimination game at the Great West Conference Softball Tournament in Farmers Branch, Texas on Sunday afternoon. Houston Baptist defeated the Mavs 3-1 in the first game.

In the early game, the Huskies jumped in front in the first inning when Kate Maddock singled home Rebecca Rademacher from third.

The Mavs tied the game in the second when Katelyn Hinton drew a walk and advanced to second on an illegal pitch by Kendall Stiefel. After advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt by Molly Negrete, Hinton scored on another illegal pitch by Stiefel.

Houston Baptist scored twice in the seventh. Michaela Granchelli opened with a single and Mac Christensen reached on a bunt single. Holly Webb bunted the runners over and Callie Herrington's fly out to center was deep enough to score Granchelli. Rademacher then singled in Christensen.

In the second game, Amber Lutmer hit a bases-loaded single to score Mara Eeman and Tonya Peterson in the 10th inning to send the 24-17 Mavs to another elimination game Monday morning against Utah Valley, who lost to Houston Baptist 3-2 on Sunday night.

North Dakota held a 2-1 lead until the sixth when Lutmer's RBI double with two outs scored Peterson from second to tie the score.
