Nebraska football strength coach James Dobson is being named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.

Dobson and 14 other strength coaches will be honored at the association's national conference next Thursday in Orlando.

Executive director Chuck Stiggins says the designation "signifies a commitment to the student-athlete, the University of Nebraska athletic program and the strength and conditioning profession."

Coaches must have a minimum of 12 years' experience as a strength coach at the college or professional level to be named a Master.

Husker head coach Bo Pelini says the program is fortunate to have Dobson and that he's pleased to see Dobson honored by his peers.
