Bruins Stay Alive In MCAC Tournament
After falling to York earlier in the day, host Bellevue remained alive in the MCAC Tournament with an 8-7, 10-inning win over Oklahoma Wesleyan at Westgate Field.

After falling to York earlier in the day, host Bellevue remained alive in the MCAC Tournament with an 8-7, 10-inning win over Oklahoma Wesleyan at Westgate Field.
Bellevue (39-18) will meet York again at noon Friday. The Bruins will need to defeat the Panthers twice to win the tournament and receive the automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament. Oklahoma Wesleyan ends its season at 35-23.
Bellevue plated three runs in the top of the 10th on RBI singles by Ryan Knutz and Kelvin Nelson, while scoring another run on an Eagle fielding error. The Eagles closed the margin to 8-7 on a two-run homer by Jose Ruiz in the bottom of the 10th.
Robert Greco (7-1) got the win, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six in four innings of relief. Trevor Cook (9-4) took the loss, pitching all 10 innings, giving up 16 hits while striking out four.
In the first game, York snapped the Bruins' 10-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory.
The Panthers grabbed a 2-0 advantage in the second inning on a pair of RBI singles by Josh Nuyten and Zach Garcia. Garcia tallied his second RBI of the game with a two-out single in the fourth to give YC a 3-0 lead.
Knutz put the Bruins on the scoreboard with a lead-off home run off starter Thomas Korn (6-4) in the sixth inning, but York got the run back in the eighth on a throwing error by catcher Knutz.
Michael Calderon (8-2) gave up four runs on eight hits with five walks and two strikeouts in eight innings.
