Dusty Kerns hit grand slams in both games to lead Bellevue to a doubleheader sweep Saturday afternoon for the second day in a row at York College, defeating the Panthers 13-2 and 7-3.
Tanner Moore, Kerns and Ryan Knutz blasted home runs to support pitcher Josh Trejo in the first game. Moore finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Kerns also drove in four runs with his third-inning grand slam.
Trejo (3-5) scattered seven hits with one walk while striking out seven batters in seven innings of work. Alex Lowther took the loss.
Kern's fourth-inning grand slam in game two gave the Bruins a 4-0 lead. York got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run single by Wilfredo Rodriguez.
The Bruins added three more runs in the seventh, scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Moore and an RBI double by Brandon Thompson. York got a solo homer from Isaac Obermiller in the home seventh.
Michael Calderon (4-1) scattered seven hits while striking out three and walking three in six innings. Brett Nathan was the losing pitcher.
The Bruins improved to 22-12, 7-1 in the MCAC. York dropped to 20-14 and 4-4 in league play.
