Thomas Nykopp's 12th goal of the season put the Storm up 1-0 7:52 into the game. Heikki Liedes won the battle for a loose puck atop the goal crease before driving in his 11th of the season at 15:35 of the first period for a 2-0 lead.
Lappin's power play score at the 14:51 mark of the second period put Omaha in a 3-0 hole. Andrew Dorantes and Lappin found the net less than four minutes apart in the third to make it 5-0.
The Lancers avoided the shutout with less than three minutes left when Anthony Hamburg put in his 13th goal of the season at 17:03.
