The Mavericks had a season-high 22 hits in a 7-4, 12-inning win at Indiana State Sunday afternoon.

Connor McCrite led off the 12th with a single and Scotty Donner's sacrifice bunt pushed him to second. Dylan McGill doubled down the left field line to score McCrite. With two outs, Brady Hohl chipped in an RBI single to right to make it 6-4. He then stole second and came across on Colby McCord's double.

Freshman Sam Raetz (1-0) got the win in relief, throwing 2.1 hit-less innings with two strikeouts and one walk. The loss went to Kyle Rupe (6-1), who gave up three runs on three hits with a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. McCord captured his first save of the season, allowing no hits and striking out three in the bottom of the 12th.

Mark Waldron's infield RBI single and Alex Mortensen's two-run homer in the ninth had given the Mavs (12-32) a 4-2 advantage.

Indiana State (34-11) started the bottom of the ninth with back-to-back walks. With one out, Owen Conway's double off the wall in left center scored Koby Kraemer and Kyle Burnam to tie the game at 4-4.
