Cyclones Too Much For UNO Women

The Nebraska Omaha women's soccer team opened the 2012 season with a 4-0 loss to visiting Iowa State Friday night.
The Cyclones scored two goals in each half while the Mavericks, in their first ever meeting with ISU, were out-shot 18-1. ISU had an 11-0 edge in shots on goal.
In the first half, Megan Longobardi opened the scoring, heading in a cross from Amanda Woelfel in the 25th minute. Just :19 later, the Cyclones forced a turnover and Emily Goldstein knocked in an unassisted tally.
Iowa State continued to pour it on in the second half, out-shooting the Mavs 10-0. The Cyclones' lead grew to 3-0 when Goldstein set up Jennifer Dominguez for a header to the top left corner in the 59th minute.
The final goal came in the 72nd minute when former Maverick Julia Adler got free in the UNO end and beat goaltender Meaghan Clark from long range.
