Kearney First Nebraska Team To Reach Little League World Series
A team from Kearney became the first Little League team from Nebraska to reach the World Series with a 10-4 win over Canyon Lake from Rapid City in the Midwest Regional final Saturday afternoon at Indianapolis.

A team from Kearney became the first Little League team from Nebraska to reach the World Series with a 10-4 win over Canyon Lake from Rapid City in the Midwest Regional final Saturday afternoon at Indianapolis.
Cole Staab’s two-run single gave Kearney a 2-0 lead in the first. Later in the inning, Blake Quintana knocked a bases-loaded single for a 4-0 lead. Quintana hit a two-run homer in the third to give Kearney the lead for good at 6-4.
They will open play Thursday night in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
