Tyler Zepeda and Mike Huntebrinker each had a goal and an assist while Stephon Williams made 27 saves to power the Black Hawks to a 4-2 win over the Lancers Saturday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The best-of-five USHL Western Conference semifinal series is tied 1-1 with game three next Friday in Waterloo.
A two-on-one rush between Mark Naclerio and Zepeda resulted in a Naclerio goal 19:05 into the first period.
Omaha tied the game when Jimmy Murray lifted a centering pass from below the goal line to the top of the crease, which was promptly slammed in by Casey Bailey at 5:32 of the second period.
The Black Hawks went back up 2-1 at the 6:01 mark on an A.J. Michaelson score. The Lancers evened things up 10:48 into the middle period on an Eli Lichtenwald goal.
Waterloo then took control on a Zepeda goal at 15:26 of the third period and an empty net goal from Huntebrinker with just :33 remaining sealed the deal.
