Mavericks Swept By Oakland
Oakland (Michigan) took both ends of a doubleheader from UNO by scores of 4-1 and 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Rochester.

Oakland (Michigan) took both ends of a doubleheader from UNO by scores of 4-1 and 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Rochester.

OU (13-25) starter Jeff Gorecki (3-5) threw a complete game in the opener with eight strikeouts, no walks and just one run surrendered while giving up seven hits, all singles. Andrew Reck (1-5) went a career-long seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four and walking five.

In game two, the Mavericks (11-29) out-hit the Golden Grizzlies 12-4 and held a 3-1 lead until the seventh when Oakland scored three runs. Trent Drumheller drew a walk, advanced to second on a throwing error and scored on John Estes' single. Aaron Cieslak singled to score Tim Ryan and Estes came in on Robby Enslen's sacrifice fly.

Kevin Korkate (1-1) got the win and Derek Landis (1-3) took the loss. UNO starter Matt Tew had a career-high nine strikeouts in six innings of work.
