A pedestrian was injured after trying to cross the street into oncoming traffic. Police believe both the driver who hit her and the pedestrian were under the influence of alcohol.

Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, 38-year-old Anita Kincaid-Neal was crossing from a parked vehicle on the east side of 13th Street and south of Atlas Street. She was struck by a northbound vehicle. Police say she is believed to be the cause of the collision, wearing dark clothing and crossing at an angle approximately 45 feet from the nearest intersection.

Kincaid-Neal was taken to Creighton Alegent Health where she was treated for head trauma and a broken ankle. Police say her injuries are not life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Keigan Albers, was cited for DUI and released.
