Ever wondered what it would be like to be a crime scene investigator? Some teens got that chance Saturday morning.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Department taught them about evidence collection, shoe impressions, fingerprints and blood stain analysis. It's all part of the Exploring program, a nonprofit that allows young adults ages 14 to 20 to explore different careers.
"It's either two things,” said the program’s Jessie Bowman. “One, they truly find out they are in love with a certain career or two, they find out it's definitely not for them. Today is a great example. Blood scene analysis, fingerprinting, it's not what you see on TV, so they are really getting a better idea of what it would be like to be a CSI."
Those who participated said it was a great experience. Some said they might even want to go into the field someday.
