A man who allegedly used a gun and knife to threaten medical staff at a York, Nebraska hospital has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge.

Joseph Palensky of Sutton, Nebraska appeared in York County District Court Monday for an arraignment. The 30-year-old is accused of walking into the hospital on July 21st armed and looking for a specific doctor. The doctor was not on duty at the time, but police say Palensky threatened a nurse and other employees.

Members of the sheriff's department persuaded Palensky to surrender his weapons and placed him in emergency protective custody because of his suicidal comments. He was later taken to the York County Jail.

A judge recently issued an injunction against Palensky that bans him from the hospital.
