Update: River Rescue Near Harrah's Casino

First responders rescued a man from the Missouri River Tuesday afternoon.

First responders rescued a man from the Missouri River Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses told Channel 6 News that they spotted a man, struggling in the water, near the Lewis and Clark Landing, and called 911. The man appeared to be middle-aged.

It took Council Bluffs firefighters about ten minutes to locate and rescue the man near Harrah's Casino. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for an ankle injury.

It's not clear yet why the victim was in the water.
