Fireworks Clean-Up Underway

If there was a lot of firework action in your neighborhood Wednesday night, there should have been some cleaning up going on Thursday. That’s because it is against the law to leave behind your fireworks mess. If police can prove it is your mess, there could be a fine of 100 to 500 dollars.

Wednesday night was the first time Sara Atkins fired up some fireworks herself. Now she and her friends are cleaning up the mess left behind. “Honestly my mom told us we had to do it,” Sara Atkins said.

Eli Wanek also helped clean up the fireworks that reached a neighboring yard. "My mom always taught me to be responsible and pick up after myself and when we spend 15 hundred dollars on fireworks and trash the street and driveway we've go to pick up after it,” Eli Wanek said.

“We always clean up every year because people don't like trash in their yard and they don’t like the mess so we try to help out its our mess and we’ve got to clean it up,” Chris Jensen said.

It might take a while to clean but everyone agrees the fun was worth the work.

"You should have been here you'd have to see it for yourself,” Eli Wanek said.
