An Omaha driver is facing criminal charges after turning himself into police Monday night.

Officials say 35-year-old Joseph Brosnihan struck and killed Ashley Rodriguez Sunday morning.

Brosnihan is charged with Felony Motor Vehicle Homicide and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident.

Police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left an Omaha woman dead Sunday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., driver reported seeing a woman lying next to the street at 63rd and Q. Authorities determined she'd been hit by a car and was declared dead at the scene. She was identified as 26-year-old Ashley Rodriguez.

OPD Traffic Unit Sgt. Jason Menning said police were "trying to investigate who might be involved and see if we can locate any other witnesses to what happened."

Police are looking for an orange SUV or pickup, possibly an older Ford, which might have been involved. The vehicle should have a passenger’s side headlight and side turn signal assembly that were broken out as a result of the collision.
