It's not something you normally see, but Keystone Little League teams were wearing pink Saturday morning at Tranquility Park in Omaha to support breast cancer awareness.
The Pink Out, which included a bake sale, also showed kids the purpose of holding an event for others. “It's great that our little players can give back and say thank you to all those moms who've been involved in making sure their baseball and softball careers are wonderful,” said event chairwoman Suzy Pfaff.
Some 1,200 children play baseball and softball at the Keystone Little League fields. It hopes to expand the event with other baseball organizations next year.
About one in six people are affected by breast cancer.
