Rain misses Omaha again and the dry streak continues. Just a trace fell Saturday morning as showers and storms either passed north or south of the metro.
Only 0.01 inches of rain has fallen since June 29th and no rain has been measured since July 8th. The 35 days of rainfall of 0.01" or less is the longest such streak in the spring and summer months, passing the previous record of 32 days ending on July 18, 1936.
The longest streak throughout the year is 61 days, ending on January 25, 1944. Overall, including all months of the year, this is the 20th longest streak of days with rainfall 0.01" or less. This streak is expected to continue for at least another couple of days.
