Police say a 31-year-old man has been arrested after his simulated gun failed to frighten a store worker into handing over some cash.
Lincoln police spokeswoman Katie Flood says Jeremy Smith, a transient, was arrested Thursday morning.
Flood says Smith walked into a convenience store about 8:45 a.m., grabbed a bag of chips and stuck a finger in one of his pockets to simulate a gun.
Flood says Smith then walked to the counter and demanded money from clerk there, but another store worker told Smith to leave.
Smith left and was arrested about a block away.
A Lancaster County jailer says Smith remained in custody on Friday. Online court records don't list the name of Smith's attorney.
