With the recent motorcycle accidents in the metro, some are warning to watch out for motorized vehicles that children may be driving as well.

The summertime brings out the recreational vehicles. More now than before, motorized vehicles are being made smaller for kids to ride.

Tom Everson, the Founder of Keep Kids Alive Drive 25, says not only do drivers have to watch for kids playing in neighborhoods but also kids on mini atvs, motor scooters, and mini bikes. Everson says Omaha city ordinance prohibits the use of motorized vehicles on sidewalks, and anything that's unlicensed cannot be on a public street.

"What may work well out in a rural area, they don't recognize that those same opportunities apply on public streets,” Everson explained. "A lot of times you may not see them because they're low to the ground or possibly you're backing out of your driveway and you don't notice them. Those are incidents waiting to happen if you're not paying attention."
