Nash Finch Acquires No Frills Supermarkets
Grocery distributor Nash Finch Co. says its subsidiary U Save Foods Inc. has agreed to buy Omaha-based No Frills Supermarkets.

Grocery distributor Nash Finch Co. says its subsidiary U Save Foods Inc. has agreed to buy Omaha-based No Frills Supermarkets.

The deal adds 18 stores to the Nash Finch company. Fourteen are
located in Nebraska, 12 of which are in the Omaha market. Four
stores are located in western Iowa.

No Frills is led by Fred Witecy, a former Nash Finch employee,
who will rejoin Nash Finch following the acquisition.

After the transaction closes, Nash Finch will own 24
supermarkets in the Omaha market and 41 in Nebraska.

The transaction is expected to be completed early in the third
quarter of 2012.

Details of the transaction were not immediately disclosed.

Minneapolis-based Nash Finch operates supermarkets under several brand names including Econofoods, Family Thrift Center, Savers Choice and Sun Mart.
