Teal Wildlife Management Area in Lancaster County is closed to target shooting, effective immediately, because of safety concerns.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission ordered the change, noting that the wildlife management area is small and has buildings nearby.

Pat Molini, the commission's southeast district wildlife manager, says that means "the area really has no safe place to shoot."
