Wrong, an accident is when something unintended happens. Accidents can be caused when something random happens like a blowout or when someone does something reckless happens like running stop signs.
Seriously? That wealthy white woman who was drunk driving a golf cart and wrecked it and killed her friend was charged. That teenage boy in west Omaha that wrecked his car and killed his friend was also charged. Get over it. Race and money were not the deciding factors here.
It is EVERYONES'S responsibility not just the driver, with your logic you want to falut one when it was just as much the passenger's fault, not take responsibility, but blame others for your own shortcommings...AND something you also need to remember this woman was just told her child was struck by a car and was in a comprimised state of mind....the sitter should have demanded to drive them both! In circumstances like this, someone needs to keep their heads and think straight, use common sense OR this sort of thing will always happen! Obviously you do not have kids or you wouldn't have posted what you did....when something involves your children, it strikes you harder than ANYTHING you have ever imangined! I have 4..8 total, when something happens to them it is like a spear through my heart!
She is a danger to society - she blew through multiple stop signs and hit someone else.
Prison as revenge???Mary you have to be joking right??There has to be be some kind of law and order in this country.Criminals have to held accountable for there actions.Or we could go back to the old west times,carry six shooters,and take care of the problems one at a time.When innocent people are killed,punishment is due,not coddling.
In Nebraska it is the responsibility of the DRIVER to ensure that their passengers are safely secured in the vehicle and if they are not, it is the DRIVER who receives the ticket. So by your logic, the driver in this case should also have an added charge of a seatbelt violation for the babysitter. Is that what you want?
Yeah, that sounds about right. We shouldn't incarcerate people for killing other people as long as they feel bad about it.
The reason our criminal justice system is a joke is because no common sense is used. We currently use prison as revenge. That doesn't help anyone. Those who are a danger to society need to be locked up to protect citizens. Those who are not a danger, need to have other consequences.
Why did she go pick up the babysitter if she was in hysterics? That is what I don't understand. She apparently wasnt too hysterical if she had the mind set to go pick up the sitter and kids. It is tragic what happened, but she should be thankful she didnt kill everyone in the vehicle or anyone else.
It was intentional if she intentionally ran through the stop signs. She may not have set out to kill anyone in her vehicle but that is what happened as a result of her intentional disregard to laws. If she was in such a hurry, why did she go pick up the babysitter, why didnt she just drive to the hospital first? That makes no sense, but her bad decisions will be haunting her for a very long time.

Why did she leave work then go pick up the sitter/kids before going to the hospital if she was in such a hurry? Why didnt she just go straight to the hospital? If this was my child, I could care less about the sitter going to see him, she could have found her way later or be kept updated by phone. This was a stupid mistake on the mothers part and she will pay severely for it for a very long time. Sad situation.
So, just let her walk???? REALLY!!!! No wonder the criminal justice system is a joke,with these thoughts!!!

Give me a break, every day people have to drive themselves to the hospital because of some form of family emergency. They all do not speed blow, through stop signs and disregard public safety.
