Lake Manawa Cleanup Day Is Sunday
Volunteers are needed Sunday for the annual cleanup day at Lake Manawa. The event usually attracts 200 to 300 people.
The assignment for volunteers is pretty simple. Do what litterbugs failed to do. Pick up trash. However, this year there will be a little more work than usual facing volunteers.
The 2011 flood added things like tires, pallets, slides, and 55 gallon drums to the landscape at the park.
Volunteers should meet at Shelter 6 at the lake Sunday May 6. The hours are 1-3pm. Gloves, bags, trash sticks and water will be provided. You just need to provide the manual labor.
