I find it interesting that the city is now limiting uniform purchases to $200 per year. Last time I checked, that would only buy a fireman a pair of boots. Do they plan on sending nearly naked firemen into a burning house?

This isn't anything new, misuse of taxpayers funds happens all the time at the city, state and federal level and is hidden from us all the time. All three need to be more transparent. You can't trust any politician, Republican or Democract.

I have a company credit card. I NEVER, EVER use that company card for any personal expenses. You just cannot chance it. You may have every intention of paying it back, but it takes one person to know you put a personal expense on it and automatically fired. Not worth my job. She should have known better, especially dealing with a city account. Far worse than a private company.

She has already proven her guilt, she was caught red-handed. About a guilty as you can get. There is no denying that. She may be a nice and giving person, but she is a thief.

When money went missing out of the senior center account (only $11 left) she said it was a mistake and put the money back. Case closed. No one knew it until the second issue was revealed regarding the credit cards. I find this a little disturbing. ANY time there is a discrepancy in funds it needs to be reported. How was she just able to sweep that under the rug? If there had not been more issues, the senior center issue would never have been brought to light. Sounds like all of their record keeping and reporting needs a good overhaul. Not sure how a city even runs like that. Maybe they all need a refresher course on how to do their job.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The state auditor needs to look at the travel expenses of every school district in Nebraska, theres more abuse there than you can imagine. Administrators and board members take trips every year on the taxpayers back under the guise of school business and the trips basically end up being parties.

Sorry I travel 45 mins to an hour each day. She could have driven home it is not that long of a drive. Good Heavens it takes that long to drive sometimes from West Omaha to the Old Market. If her card was declined then she should not have purchased the clothing, she should have walked. Manicures and Pedicures are luxury items not a necessity. If her card truly was declined and it was an emergency situation then it should have only happened once and she should have reimbursed the city the next day....not 45 days later when she received enough paychecks to pay it back.

Too bad Foley wasn't this astute and aggressive when it came to the OFD union audit. Charges should have been filed there as well.

Uniforms? Here's what the auditor report says about that:“Uniform” Purchases: From October 1, 2010, through January 31, 2012, the APA noted 12 instances in which “uniforms” were purchased by the City Administrator, totaling $805.35. See Exhibit D. The City Administrator did not provide receipts for three of these purchases; she only provided a “no receipt” form, so there is no documentation to support what was actually purchased. It appears, therefore, that the so-called uniform purchases were actually personal purchases of clothing. None of these purchases were repaid by the City Administrator. These purchases were made at stores that specialize in women’s casual wear, as opposed to uniform shops. More importantly, the City Administrator’s job does not entail the wearing of uniforms, nor does her contract or the City’s Employee Handbook and Personnel Manual specifically provide a clothing or uniform allowance."

You'll like this, from the audit report: "When the APA asked about the nearly $300 discrepancy between the City Administrator’s airfare and lodging and the Mayor’s airfare and lodging, the City Administrator explained that the purchase for the Mayor also included two tickets for a musical stage show, The Lion King, totaling $260." Your tax money is sending the mayor to stage shows, because, you know, she deserves it.

Well as a resident of Papillion I have to say thanks for all the sales tax dollars she spent at Wheatfields and the Shadow Lake Mall!!

It's easy to be a nice and "giving" person when you are using other people's cash to do your benevolent deeds. The proof is in the charges and the reciepts that did not come from her own personal account. I guess if she's not a theif then she is blind and stupid since she couldn't tell the difference between her own bank card and the stolen funds she CHOSE to use instead!!

She gets to keep her health insurance for over 6 more months & cash in any unsued vacation pay according to the updated news! Ridiculous! I guess her picking the pockets of the Gretna taxpayers continues even after she has been arrested. The people of Gretna should be outraged and look to investigate those that made her this sweet deal after her dismissal!
