Thankfully we didn't have any Gust-natos and HyVee didn't run out of milk and eggs. Whew !!

better the hype, the making sure people know. Other wise, ignoring it is ignorance and loss of life. I would rather be told too many times, and be lucky that the storm passed, then not hear and get hurt.

WELL WELL WELL..........all this for NOTHING!!! I think its time they check the credentials of these so called "experts". I've seen worse without any warning. Thank you for making me waste my Saturday night.

Surprise...it's Tornado season. Seems ever since the problems last year that the NWA is trying to save face by being overly cautious. I don't see where this warning was really necessary. An evening forecast on the news and hourly updates online should be sufficient warning as Midwesterner's are, generally, aware of how to read the weather. Crying wolf and causing hype isn't the answer...the NWA being responsible enough to give ample warning prior to the actual event is happening is. Nice try, NWA but a wait and see approach is, often more effective.

Man that was one hell of a "life threatening" storm yest. What a joke how many hours did the media waste of their time and our time pumping fear down our throats since Thurs. And all we got was rain. Lol I've said it before and I'll say it again. The news media and their 24 hour news channels, Internet, mobile alerts, etc. Are destroying the mindset of this country. Nobody thinks for themselves anymore the believe everything reported to them. The media creates stories and hypotheticals for stories like Travon Martin and others to create panic and money off ratings. The days of good journalism is gone as far as reporting only the FACTS, now it has to be tied into a what if scenario or traced back to a political opinion. Channel 6 does do a good job on reporting facts only. That's why they'll continue to be my ONLY source of news!

Its a good thing that they sent out warnings for those in the path. If anything it got people thinking and preparing which is good because it brings people back to reality. The sad thing the most destruction in history usually comes without warning so always be prepared.

Your missing the whole point and that is nothing happened here in Omaha.

It didn't happen here in Omaha and it was just a bit of rain and thunder. Calm down nothing happened. Get a grip.

The storm didn't affect me so therefore it was nothing more than a rain event.

I stocked up on beer and brats and had a wonderful time grilling in my garage and drinking with my next door neighbor.

There are people who live in places other than Omaha, you know. The 4+ inches of rain and 60+ mph winds here were anything by boring.

The boy scout motto is "be prepared" The camp is ran by boy scouts and former boy scouts and they had not storm shelters there and they weren't prepared. I bet parents still think twice about dumping their kids off at any camp now as they should.
