It's not your traditional "spring break" with all the craziness but UNMC students and staff did celebrate their Spring Fling during Tuesday’s Spirit Day festivities.

It's not your traditional "spring break" with all the craziness but UNMC students and staff did celebrate their Spring Fling during Tuesday’s Spirit Day festivities.

Perhaps the most popular, definitely the most dangerous act at Spirit Day was the fire dancers. Many people ate their lunch at the Scott Student Plaza and enjoyed the show.

Another popular attraction was the airplane toss where contestants won prizes for the longest flight.

Jessica Brummer says, "The idea is that it is a beautiful spring day, we now have this beautiful student plaza which we never had before. It is something to get the employees and students together to take a break and have some fun over lunch."

Staff and students were also treated to lunch and for dessert a University of Nebraska Medical Center cookie.
