Your comments are a disgrace to 2nd Amendment supporters and the NRA !!!!! They're TOTALLY ludicrous and have NOTHING to do with this story. Next time, please comment on something that pertains to the story.

Ok, well...I have read through all of these comments and I am an acquaintance of the young man being charged (more or less). I believe that he probably went inside to get the gun to act "hard" and "tough." Boys these days have no idea that being "tough" is much more than carrying a gun. I do not think he wanted to hurt anyone and knowing the kid and the kids he hangs out with...They all still have A LOT to learn about life and how a real man should behave in a situation like this. I think he should be tried as a juvenile. As for the man that was shot, what exactly was a grown 20 year old man and his buddies doing messing with a 16 year old? I hope all in all this comes out well in the end and both parties learn a lot and grow.

I find it very ironic that everyone says this young man needs to get a lengthy sentence when in reality he was defending himself and his family.
Posted by: self defense on Apr 7, 2012 at 09:49 AM

Self defense? So ur saying that trayvon didn't have the exact dame right to defend him self from zimmerman who initially started to follow him even after he was told not to. What was trayvon doing wrong? What made zimmerman follow him? What was he doing wrong? If u follow me at night time I'm not going to run away from u. I have every right to defend myself if I think I'm being stalked by a person that out weighs me by a good 100 lbs. Self defense works both ways. But plz don't let the non evidence deter u from ur position. Last time I checked if I slam ur head into the ground just 1 time I promise u there would be a much larger injury than what was shown at the police station. My 14 year old has had worse injuries than that. How was zimmermans life in danger? From a broken nose? That wasn't really broke. Release the xrays I would assume that would help zimmermans case. Why don't they? Why haven't they just came out and been like look here it shows he broke his nose. Why don't they? Last time I checked a fight in the middle of the street does not constitute somebody just blasting them with a gun. Bc we all know the likelihood of trayvon killing zimmerman with his bare hands is highly unlikely. If zimmerman wanted him to stop why didn't he just pistol whip him in the head? Instead of shooting him. There was no reason from the beginning he should have been followed. What do I tell my son now since we are moving to Florida soon? What do I tell him? When a stranger approaches u you have to comply with that stranger? Otherwise u could be shot? I tell my kid to never talk to strangers and if they try to apprehend u you fight back like no other. But now I guess neighborhood watch captainss randomly carry a 9 mm glock

@la. Your bro is a great person? Why was he arrested on outstanding warrants? Just sayin
Posted by: Conclusions first, data second on Apr 7, 2012 at 09:16 AM

Zimmerman shot Trayvon in self defense. That's why he's not in jail. But please don't let the facts get in the way of your conclusions.
Posted by: Dumb kid... on Apr 7, 2012 at 08:20 AM

This kid is so dumb. What he needed to do instead of shooting a guy is to run a car into a cop and go on a high speed chase. Then he would only get a misdemeanor and probation.

Even serial killers are said to be "outstanding people" before they are caught. I'm sure your brother isn't as innocent as you may think.
