April kicks off Child Abuse Prevention month and one group is doing something eye catching to bring attention to the cause.

Volunteers from Pinwheels for Prevention put more than 400 pinwheels at the entrance of the Boys town National Research Hospital. Each pinwheel represents a child abuse victim in Omaha.

Therapist and volunteer, Sheryl Overby, says the campaign is used to draw attention to the needs of all children and families and highlight resources available in the community.

“Hopefully if someone is feeling like they're at their wits end and possibly might abuse one of their children they realize that there's help out there".

Another 100 pinwheels were put in at other sites around Omaha including Lutheran Family Services, Completely Kids, and the Child Saving Institute.

The pinwheels will stay up throughout the entire month of April.
