The Beatrice school board has approved spending $300,000 more on the new high school stadium.
The board voted unanimously Monday to raise the project cost to $2.3 million.
The extra money will be spent on security fences, a sprinkler system for the grass berm seating, a ticket booth with donor recognition bricks and two observation decks on the second level of the concession stand and press box.
Superintendent Jon Lopez says the money will be borrowed from local banks and will be paid back with fundraising proceeds over the next five years.
Lopez says the district needed to act on the additional projects while the contractors were on site.
With the new projects, the stadium's substantial completion is delayed two months, to July 1.
