Johnny Carson's band leader Doc Severinsen brings his big band sound back to Johnny's backyard when he performs in Lincoln next week.

Johnny Carson's band leader Doc Severinsen brings his big band sound back to Johnny's backyard when he performs in Lincoln next week.

Severinsen and his musicians will bring "The Tonight Show"
theme to the Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln on Monday night.

The veteran trumpeter and bandleader has made more than 30
albums, ranging from big-band to jazz fusion to classical.

Dean Haist, local trumpet player and Arts Inc. executive director, will give a pre-talk in the Lied's Steinhart Room at 7 p.m. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
