Really makes me mad paying almost double what people in Omaha pay for water and I can't drink it now. Recently a bid was proposed by MUD to take over water operations. The city declined the offer....I suspected they refused because they would lose one of their cash cows....nice!
Down in the Caribbean we collected rain water from the roof and directed it to a cistern. Any particulars would settle to the bottom. Some treated the drinking water with chemicals or a very diluted form of bleach. It worked. At our place in Colorado I mounted a water tank on a trailer and would visit the Loveland water works weekly and fill the trailer tank. It worked also. Going off line is a little work but in cases like this it's worth it.
The City has known that the liner in the working well has needed replaced for some time. The other well is offline because of the nitrate levels. The City has planned to dig a new well but don't have the funds. Looks like the fecal matter has finally hit the fan.
Gretna has failed how many water tests in the last couple of years???!!!
Well...I am questioning whether it isn't in the well. My parents have lived in Springfield for 7 years and they have been receiving notices about the water for the last few years. This is the first time they were told not to drink water...but there has been fecal matter found in it before.
So someone or something did a Number Two on an outside faucet of a home, and the entire area needs to under go all this?
