Sometimes filing a claim will give the airlines a little bit more giddy-up an' go and perhaps may even inspire them to take a peek into the situation. Otherwise I don't think they could care less.I am surprised there isn't a fee for lost bags to counter the costs of them having to reimburse customers for what they lose! Mabye that's next....
Marie, I completely agree. We're not asking for special treatment; we just want to be treated in a considerate and reasonable manner. Also, you're right... Southwest has excellent customer service. TJ, we don't care about or even need the money. It's a matter of principle. American Airlines lost our bag, so we expect them to do their best to find it, or compensate us for the replacement value of the lost items. However, we would much rather just have back the items of sentimental value, like the good-bye cards and gifts from our kindergartener students and friends. To Mike McKnight: thanks again for all your time and interest.
I understand accidents happen but some airlines really need to take more responsibility. I couldnt even get a claim filed when my camcorder was taken out of my suitcase. They were rude and didn't even try to locate it because they feel they are ultimately not responsible. They also sell the stuff at an auction within a very short timeframe instead of trying to find the rightful owner. I should mention though that Southwest found my cell phone and the gal at the front desk of the airport was calling me on it when I came in to look for it. Kudos to them!
Why did they file a claim, if they they didn't care about the money?????
