Bob, hate to break this to you, but the original news story on Wednesday DID SAY the stations were locked down 'FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS'. I am sorry that the update to the story made that initial report dissappear, but it is what it is... Again, I was not working that day, I have not talked to anybody who was in a station that day, my comments on the duration are based SOLELY on what I read on this site. I thought I made that clear. Oh, that is right, you can't be bothered with actually learning from anything I post, you just see it and dispute it because it does not fit into your rosy explanation of how you feel things should be...

LoM, you were going on the information you got? And the information you got was 2 hrs? There was nothing in the original story that said anything about the duration o the lockdown, so your information had to come from the fire department. And it was the wrong information. If something as little as the duration of time of a lockdown got screwed up, what other information has been wrong or changed within the fire department? It seems you guys can never get your stories straight.

OK, look at my posts... I said I was NOT at work that day... The information I was going on as far as the duration was what I got from the news. When the story broke, it was a lockdown for a 'couple of hours', but in the later updates, they call it 6 hours, and THAT is why I was correcting myself. It was a nice try to discredit though.

LoM, the lockdown was 2 hours? Now it's 6 hours? It looks as though your "facts" are not a solid as you seem to think. It just goes to show how many stories about the situation are out there between the fire fighters themselves.

No, what happened was that he was seen as a threat, whether it be due to his 'appearance as a threat'. He was denied access to his vehicle to leave, but unless someone saw him drive the car into te lot, there is no proof he drove. Old Market is nearby, maybe his wife drove him down, to do some shopping while he was inside. He did NOT drive the vehicle away, however. He was seen as a threat, but keep in mind, the last person seen as a threat was allowed to retire...

ok, sorry, six hours... I was not at the staion... but still, my point stands... had the media said nothing about it, you never would have realized anything was happening...

Why would you want to do CPR on yourself when you are still alive? I thought CPR was used when the heart has stopped beating? That would mean you would be dead! How can a dead person do CPR on themselves? Please do explain, George.

Why do you DESERVE to know what happened to him? Since he is a public servant (or WAS) you own him now? The story says he may be in custody of the military police.. that should be all that you NEED to know!! Get a life

No, you don't. You have to be a firefighter to join the union, but you do not have to join the union to be a firefighter. Get it straight please, and then come back and make your 'witty' comments.

HAHA, so funny... lockdown lasted a whole two hours... it took you two days to think that one up... niiiiiice

NO, there are not many of them, but there are non-union members on the fire department. This individual was one of those few non-members. This further goes to show that you do not understand unions, what they do/ what they are for... That is why you should stick to what you know, or at least EDUCATE yourself...

Unless, of course, you have a CCW permit. The city is not allowed to regulate carry by permit holders. They can post a build as a no carry zone, but they cannot charge a permit holder for have firearms in a (private) vehicle. Of course, all bets are off if you are drunk and driving a government vehicle.

So has the drunken fireman with a car with guns in it been arrested? Has he now been fired from his job for his behavior? What is the latest on this story? Don't the citizens deserve to know?

Mayor Suttle needs to step in and direct OFD to release information on what happened.
