Would you jump at an opportunity to lose weight quickly without much effort? I know I would -- and I have. Hydroxycut, Acai Berry, Atkins, and several others plans and pills offer quick weight loss always accompanied by a picture of some 20-year old blonde body builder/aerobics instructor. "Yes -- I want to look just like her -- send me 5 cases of whatever she's on!"
And isn't it funny when we notice someone has trimmed down the first thing often asked is, "How did you do it? What did you use? What program were you on?"
Well I'm about to tell you the greatest weight loss secret ever. Shhhh . . . don't tell anyone. If some big company finds out and markets this they could make millions off us!
Here goes . . . eat better, eat less, move more.
But that's boring, isn't it?!? That's not a quick fix. That requires discipline and consistency. There's nothing magical about that . . . or is there?!?
We had our final fitness and health assessment Saturday at Alegent and I was blown away by the numbers:
· I lost 9 pounds and two inches off my waist!
· My cholesterol dropped 30 points!
· I lowered my blood pressure and my glucose level!
· I increased my pushups for 30 seconds from 17 to 35 and crunches from 19 to 31!
· And most importantly, my risk factor for having a heart attack or stroke went from a 12 to a 7 (and 4 of those points were because of my age and heredity factors)!!!
So take THAT heart disease!
I was blown away because it really took minimal effort -- I almost felt guilty! Through the BetterU program for the last 11 weeks all I have done is eaten heart healthy and moved a little more. I'm not exaggerating. I did push-ups and crunches every other day (or less!) and walked 45 minutes 2-3 times a week. That's it and "voila!" my body responded.
Who knows -- maybe with some actual effort, I could put that 20-year blonde out of a job! (giggle) ;-)
