This cool, breezy morning Trudy and I did our 45 minute walk around Avoca. To do this I drive 6 miles into Avoca because we live in the country by Hancock. We take a different route each day. Some days have more hills than others. Stacey said it was good to change it up for your body.(like interval training) We walked alot of flat and then found the "mountain" hill of Avoca and scaled it this morning. It made us feel good mentally to know we could do it but we felt it in our legs. I wouldn't have done it without her with me and probably vice versa.
Today is also the second day for resistance training. I'm ready to do it but know I will be sore again. I wonder when that will go away. I'm working at being consistent with this, just like my walking.
Tomorrow will be day 5 of exercise for the week and Trudy can't walk so I'm going to Atlantic again to walk and swim with Jodie. I'm putting it on the calendar like Better U suggested. Making it a priority. This schedule will all change in 2 weeks when school begins again. I have to get it figured out now so I can follow through with what I start.
What is all this exercise doing for me? I feel more energized throughout the day because I was having problems with fatigue. My family would tell you I'm in a "better mood". I sleep better at night and more soundly. It makes me be more organized because "I want" to fit it into my schedule. I'm more aware of what I eat because I know what it takes to work it off. I think I have even lost 2 pounds. That's according to my scale-know that dial hasn't moved in a long, long, time. I think my clothes fit better.
I hope you're making an effort to be more active. I think the benefits definitely outweigh the obstacles. Have fun and "get moving".
Blessings,
Laurie
