The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says seven state recreation areas and one state historical park will allow people to set off their own fireworks on July Fourth.
They are Branched Oak State Recreation Area near Malcolm, Fort Kearny State Historical Park near Kearney, Fremont State Recreation Area near Fremont, Two Rivers State Recreation Area near Venice, Pawnee State Recreation Area near Emerald, Wagon Train State Recreation Area near Hickman and Memphis State Recreation Area near Ashland.
Signs will be posted to denote the fireworks sites in the parks. Use of fireworks elsewhere in state areas or at other times is forbidden. Only fireworks approved for sale in Nebraska are permitted.
A park entry permit is required for all vehicles.
