Game On! Me Vs. The Husker Party
I love football season...and not because of the football!

I like football as much as the average woman. I love watching the Huskers play and I love going to the games even more, but that is not what I love about football season. The reason that I look forward to football season is because of the football parties!! I love sitting in the kitchen with the girls, talking and laughing and....EATING! Oh and even sometimes DRINKING!...Just kick me out of this BetterU group right now!
So today is the beginning of many of these husker parties. I have to say, my family knows how to do it right! We will be heading to my uncles house. There will be food galore! And not just any food. Food that I can not resist. I am not a dessert person, I don't really care for sweets....but chips and dips and meatballs and tortillas roll ups and anything else on a table at a football party-those are my favorite foods!
So, just as the Huskers have a game plan to kick some Florida Atlantic butt, I have a game plan for this Husker Party.
I figure my options are as follows:
A. Don't go, stay home and catch up on some housework.
B. Go, but do not allow myself to have a single bite of the food. Bring my own baggies of rice cakes, carrots, and tofu.
C. Starve myself all day and then go to town at the party...if I save up my calories, I should be fine right?
D. Eat a very healthy breakfast and lunch, and allow myself to have some football food-but be conscious and really think about what I am eating and drinking.
I am going to go with plan D. I am planning on having a homemade fruit smoothie and some wheat toast with peanut butter for breakfast, and a turkey pita with green beans for lunch. I am going to eat and drink at the party-saying I'm not going to is not at all realistic for me. But I think if I sit far away from the table and really think about what I am eating I should do okay! Wish me luck!
I've got my game face on!!!!
GO BIG RED!
