I had to laugh when she asked me what kind of resistance training I have done in the past. Ummm...how about NONE! Sure, I've lifted a few weights in the gym, and I have done a weight lifting machine now and then, but never have I seriously thought about strength training. I was always focused on cardio and burning calories, but Stacey has helped me understand the importance of including some resistance training into my weekly workouts.
My goal for the next few weeks is going to be to add one (maybe two, but we will have to see) days of resistance training. I know that I need to start slow and build up. It is not going to be easy for me. I am a wimp, and when the muscles start to burn, I usually give up. I am proud of how hard I worked the first week, and I am determined to be able to do this!
I can't believe I am going to say this, but working out is actually something I am beginning to enjoy. Even though I thought I might die today when I was walking with Stacey, when we finished, I felt so good. I am looking into getting a gym membership so that when the weather turns colder I have a back up plan.
Well, it's only 9:30 and the kids are in bed, and Ryan is hanging out with a friend, so I am going to go enjoy a little bit of ME time.
Good night!
