P'Allen Stinnett scored 18 points as Creighton snapped a two-game losing skid with an 82-58 win over winless Mississippi Valley State Tuesday night at Qwest Center Omaha.

The sophomore guard, who didn't play in the Bluejays' last-second loss to rival Nebraska Saturday because of a "coach's decision," came off the bench to hit six of his 10 shots to lead three Creighton players in double figures.

The Jays (4-2) led by as many as 27 points. They led 46-33 at the break after forcing 16 turnovers in the first half. Creighton scored 21 points off those takeaways and had 51 points from its bench.

MVSU wiped out an early 10-point deficit by scoring 11 consecutive points, but the Delta Devils (0-9), who opened the game by hitting seven of their first 10 shots, turned the ball over 26 times in the game and shot 40 percent from the field.

Tashan Newsome had 22 points for MVSU to lead all scorers. Dwayne Harmason added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Delta Devils, who have played all nine of their games away from home.

Booker Woodfox had 14 points and Kenton Walker had a double-double for Creighton with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Jays improved to 4-0 at home after losing road games to Arkansas-Little Rock and Nebraska in the closing seconds.
